A pair of English rocking chairs in steel, pine, and leather, designed by Peter Cooper for R.W. Winfield & Co. of Birmingham. Introduced at the Great Exhibition of 1851. The steel frames are joined with brass bolts and upholstered in brown leather, the whole retaining a lively, curving silhouette that remains distinctly modern.
