An 18th-century American painted oak door opening, probably New England, originally fitted to a built-in cupboard. The original verdigris paint and iron hardware remain. The reverse has traces of wallpaper and newspaper. The upper and lower doors are each hung on pins, allowing independent access to the cupboard interior.
